In 2019 and 2020 six exercises for Civil Protection Modules and other Response Capacities were planned throughout Europe. Urban Search and Rescue Modules, Emergency Medical Teams and other Response capacities should get the chance to train their preparedness for a deployment in the context of a full-scale exercise.

The tenth EU MODEX cycle is on hold

On behalf of the EU Directorate-General for Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid the consortium of the EU MODEX Lot3 and Lot5 is commissioned to conduct six Module Exercises within the EU Civil Protection Mechanism from November 2019 to September 2020. Unfortunatelly the Corona pandemic had a hudge influence on the conduction of our USAR and medical EU MODEX in the cycle 10.

The next planned exercises of the tenth cycle at Passo Tonale/Italy from 3rd to 6th March 2020 and at Tekirdağ/Turkey from 25th to 28th June 2020 are postponed. We are working on catching up this exercise at a later stage. The exercises in Timisoara/Romania from 6th to 9th May 2020, Eisenerz/Austria from 4th to 7th June 2020 and Pinerolo/Italy from 18th to 22nd September 2020 are cancelled.

In the face of the outbreak of the SARS-COV-2 / COVID-2019 virus, EU MODEX has the responsibility to contribute its part of fighting the virus.
